Option One - Texting or Facebooking Feedback: This activity is designed for small working groups within the larger class or group to provide quick feedback.
Procedures:
- If this
hasn’t already occurred, ask members of a smaller working group to exchange
phone numbers and/or to friend one another on Facebook (this is determined by
individual needs and preferences).
- After a small group activity, instruct members to text or post on “friend’s” Facebook page three adjectives that describes each other’s performance during the group activity.
_Option Two - Peer Feedback Through a Group Texting Service: This activity
is designed to provide real time feedback via a texting service about a
member’s performance of a skill. It is designed for face-to-face learning
environments.
- Ask members to join a group texting service such as Celly or Wiffitti.
- Request that they jot down notes about a student’s performance during some skill-based activity - giving a speech, interviewing, performing a mechanical operation.
- Following the performance, ask members to text feedback about the performance to the texting service selected. Instruct them to use the first name only of the student getting the feedback along with the feedback.
- These results can be projected onto a whiteboard for the entire group to see and discuss.
